It’s That Time of Year

29 Oct

It is that season in Bacalar, cooler temperatures and beautiful sunrises. It’s the time of year that those who reside here year round, live for.

The Canadians and other part-timers usually show up about the first of December through April. The hotels are full and the restaurants busy.

In the four years since we moved here, we’ve seen a lot of growth. There are many new hotels and a wider selection of good places to eat. I’ve heard there’s even a Japanese restaurant although we haven’t been able to find it. Lol

Lisa really appreciates the new Time Out sports bar run by our friend Kim. We get to watch football and the World Series and eat some good food in Bacalar! Imagine that.

Love love love Mexican murals.

We are learning to enjoy the Bacalar of today and smile at the “do you remember when…?” reminiscings of those who moved here before us. The only thing you can bank on is change.

So enjoy whatever is here and now for you. Love whoever is in front of you. Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. DOS TORTAS

Hi neighbors! I wish I were there…yet I leave in a week for Amsterdam, Italy and Morocco to be with my grown children and grandchildren. Maybe I can figure out how to be two places at once. Loved this post – stunning video of “our lake” 🙂

Lovely images. What is about autumn? Sunsets on this side of the pond are stunning too.

        Hey Alex & Lisa,
I really enjoying looking at this site will have to tell Kim L to make sure she reads this. The video was great loved it and love Bacalar Lake. My cabana at the north end of the lake is very private and still very authentic. But yes very fast change in the town of Bacalar. So much that I thought it may need a sports/Music bar and had a big smile when you mentioned it and even had pictures, thanks so much. Can’t wait to get back to Mexico my cabana and Time Out because I sure needs some TO after this what I call tour of duty having to return to Canada to work. Peace and love to all as that is how I feel when I am there living and enjoying all the area has to offer.
