One of the challenges of living outside of the country is voting. November 3rd is a major election in the United States, midterms. The hope is to shake up the current conservative stronghold on the state and federal government.
Lisa and I petitioned our ballots over the summer and received them electronically in September. In Texas you are required to submit hard copies. Some states allow electronic voting but not Texas.

We printed a mountain of paper which included instructions, Step One, Two, Three, Four……

Not only was there a ballot, but two signature pages, two envelopes and the instructions were so confusing.

It took the two of us an hour of swearing and a trip to YouTube to figure out the process. I did not want to leave anything to chance. We carried our finished ballots to the post office to be hand stamped and mailed. Thank god that’s done!

Now we wait and pray.

Thank you for going through the challenging process to make your vote count. We were able to vote electronically (registered in Florida) during our traveling years, thankfully. Don’t know if they even offer that option any more, but it was a godsend.

I felt like I needed a PHD in confusion to accomplish this task. Thanks to Alex for not giving up.
