A Time For Reflection

23 Sep

It’s Sunday (my usual day of blogging) and nothing has been posted, written or is even dancing around in my head. I am in Bacalar, Mexico to handle an immigration deadline and I will be going back to California in a week to finish the commitment to our daughter and her family.

Our beautiful granddaughters.

I think I really want to spend some time this week listening. Our home in Bacalar is such a place of peace and quiet. California with our twin granddaughters and two year old grandson has been a challenge to my sense of calm. I believe that peace is not a matter of circumstances but a choice. My listening is about what I need to consistently make that choice.

A lovely little shower moving across the Laguna. Can you hear the thunder?

I know this is out of the norm for my blog. It’s where I’ve been lately and trying to decide whether or not to share it. So here goes. What do you do when you need guidance that talking and thinking does not provide?

Congrats again on the beautiful grand babies…such a double blessing though I imagine there is not much quiet right now. Felice is blessed to have your help and support…I can’t image two babies at once! As for your need for quiet, I totally get that. Didn’t realize we were so much alike in that regard. Hugs to you and your family…miss you!

I seek wise counsel. If I can get still enough to remember that step. Ha ha

Yes, I guess I need to remember that I can ask more than once.

I appreciate reading your blog. Always have. I look forward to it so keep writing even when you don’t know what to write about. 🙂 I love the update on the babies. About your question, in addition to talking and thinking about the issue, i also use meditation. Get spiritually centered and ask spirit for guidance. I have gotten guidance in meditation. Youc can also ask Spirit for a sign (literally). I’ve also visited a spiritual psychic (Joe Nichols, he’s very good) when I was really hung up about what to do. He doesn’t usually tell me what to do but gives me insights about the issue and some of the pros / cons of each option.

I speak to my wonderful, wise grandmother. She died when I was fifteen but has remained to guide me these many years.
I write until nothing else comes out. I used to take long walks and still would if I could.
And sunsets. Never underestimate a good sunset.
    Take care, please.

My fav is to sit on the dock. I know what I need to do, now I just need to pull up my big girl pants. 😝

You’ve got it! Stop the constant judgment and categorization. Listen to the still quiet voice the Holy Spirit within us. Not as an act of will but as a choice, turning to welcome surrender.
