A busy week watercolor painting to capture the beauty of Merida, Mexico.
Five days of painting the diversity of parks, churches, fountains, fruterias, even trains, culminates tonight in a party with music, dancing and food. People will come to peruse and hopefully purchase at silent auction.
No pressure here, just an agreement to produce five finished paintings in five days.
However, my plan is to exit the party early to see Bad Bunny perform in the Super Bowl half-time show. I want a packed, rowdy bar where everyone is drunk and cheering. Mexicans love US football. The show will be epic with every Spanish-speaking country glued to the tele. Let’s do it!

This man has so much heart as he tells the audience that we don’t know what tomorrow brings, live today and love one another. You don’t need to speak Spanish to understand that.

I have zero interest in football and would Not miss Bad Bunny. It will all be new as I haven’t heard him before! Based on what friends tell me, I want the Sea Hawks to win.

I walked to a neighborhood bar just for the show. I didn’t really care who won, but yeah Seattle!

Google provided a countdown to half time. The bar was down the street. Not the gritty Mexican bar I was hoping for, but good nonetheless.

Bad Bunny was great. I loved the messages and the way he brought his island and his life to the football field. I had NO idea that was a real wedding! What a story they’ll have for kids!
Regarding painting. Go on Facebook and look for the Jacqueline Baer Challenge. 40 pieces in 40 days. I have agreed to write or photograph for each of those 40 days.
Jacqueline died a little over a year ago, but doing the beginning of Covid, she was ill and produced 40 pieces in 40 days. We do a challenge every year in her honor. Then go to her page and see the works she did!
Challenge starts tomorrow, Monday the 16th.
